Introduction to Kwik Cricket
ASDA Kwik Cricket is a simple game for all boys and girls from five years of age upwards. It is currently played in 8,000 primary schools and over 4,500 of the 6,000 ECB affiliated clubs. It’s designed to provide children with an introduction to cricket and can be played either indoors or outdoors.

It forms an integral part of the ECB’s strategic goal of increasing the levels of participation amongst children. It is the result of many years of detailed product development and research by ECB in consultation with cricket coaches, Cricket Development Managers, education authorities, teachers and children.

At Mountsorrel Castle CC we aim to ensure a safe, fun and educational environment for any children who attend. Free practice sessions are held every other Friday at 6pm at the ground and during the season we play matches against other local villages on alternate Fridays. Our Club House has a bar and flat screen TV with Sky Sports and parents are encouraged to use the facilities whilst their children play.

The focus is more on the children having fun and enjoying the game than it is on competing for points or awards. The Under 10s format is governed by Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket Board and the competitive fixtures are played under their sanction and rules. League tables are not published as it is more important that the children have fun than feel pressured to perform.
